Tempting as it is to go overboard on Black Friday sales, we wanted to share some of the top tips we’ve heard about how to make this day feel intentional and to share in the savings while also being mindful:
- Shop slow. Make a list and check it twice. It’s easier to be thoughtful and meaningful about your shopping experience, both items purchased for yourself and those you buy as gifts, if you go in with a plan. Perhaps spend a little time doing research beforehand so you don’t feel overwhelmed by options.
- Fuel yourself accordingly. Eat and drink in a way that supports your body to feel nourished and satisfied before hitting the shopping mall or online stores. We all know that bad decisions get made when we’re feeling hangry.
- Wear comfortable shoes. This one goes without saying; if you’re going to be on your feet for an extended period of time, you want footwear that will support you in all of that extra walking you’re doing as you navigate store to store, not only to help your back and hips feel good, but to keep you in a good mood as well.
